Who Knew?

Who knew coffee filters could be beautiful!?! Personally I already had a love for the little white beauties...in my coffee maker that is...Without them I wouldn't be able to function...get my kids to school...you know...survive!

I was checking out Pinrest....I love Pintrest...although I don't pin much. I just like to look around and check out things..ideas...I also realise that it is the whole point to gather ideas and inspirations on your own board. Maybe I'll be better at pinning in the new year!

On one of my browsing sessions I came across a very awesome craft with coffee filters WHO KNEW... {not me} and with the help of my wonderful friend Ashley we made a beautiful wreath that was so easy and turned out wonderfully! Thanks Little Miss Momma!

Here is what you need:
Glue Gun
Styrofoam wreath
Coffee Filters
Pen/felt

Here is how it turned out!

Not Yet...

So today my 4 year old Taylor comes down the stairs and very seriously hands me a paper one of her many scraps of random things she collects that are hidden in her room and asks me to write "Santa are you real?" ....I thought I was going to pass out....not yet! I was just blogging about how I love watching them believe and witness the magic of Christmas through their eyes....fast forward 2 days...I actually cried a bit as I wrote the note to Santa for her.
Of course I asked her why she was wondering if he was real and she said ''I don't know, I just wonder if he is real or not". I am not sure why this thought has come to her....BUT it must be rectified....

We left the note taped to the tree I told her that if he was really real that he would leave her a note in the tree to answer her question...Although I realize that this is going to be easy to make a believer out of her again...it still brings tears to my eyes thinking of her little soul pondering such a question at 4 years old.

Here is her note:

Dear Taylor:
Keep Believing...
Love Mommy

Christmasfy...Check!

Over the past week I've been putting last minute boxes away and getting organized for Christmas! This is my absolute favorite time of year...I'm excited to make new memories in our new home. The girls are old enough now to know all about Santa, Elves & Reindeer...I love watching the excitement and wonder in their eyes and knowing that they truly believe...these years will go by so quickly...I feel sad knowing that one day the truth will come out...(this day for me was very traumatizing...) But until that time comes - we will try to pump as much Christmas spirit and magic into their little spirits! Never stop believing...

Here are some pictures of our home Christmasfied!!

Christmasfy!!

It's time.....time to get organized and Christmasfy!! We've lived here for 6 weeks now and we still have a few boxes to go through..it seems there is never enough time! With a 3 & 4 year old around this is difficult at times...the little helpers want to be involved in everything...which is not always helpful!

This weeks goal is to complete many little tasks that have been lingering over my head and to Christmasfy the house! (do you like my new word?) We are so excited to make some Christmas memories in our new home with the kids..and of course the annual Ible's Shindig is in just over 2 weeks!

My next post will have glitter, lights, trees, balls eh hmm...,maybe even some baking!

Let the Christmasfying begin!!

Success!

We have success! I knew Kira would finally poop in the potty...but at the rate we were going I was considering investing in a lifetime supply of diapers...(okay...not really...). Last week may just be on the or near the top for most frustrating parenting weeks EVER! I try very hard not to get frustrated with things like this but sometimes...when you're sitting in a bathroom....for 1 whole week....and your there for them for hours (we took breaks, don't worry I'm not a drill sargent)....you start to lose you mind. Or at least I did!

So, on Sunday when this glorious moment happened...We had a Poop Party!! We danced, we sang, we had treats, we went to the store so Kira could choose a new toy (one of our bribes)...But the best part was seeing Kira's face and how proud she was of herself!

We are officially a diaper free house.....I've been waiting 4.5 years for this moment since Taylor was born!
I promise to never talk about poop again.

On a side note I am very excited that Craig has finally started painting our bedroom...Kids rooms and the play room first of course! Our new bedding is yellow and grey. Two of my favorite combos!
I'll be sure to post some pictures of before and afters when it's complete! Have a great week :)

Oh Kira...

I am thankful that our Kira has decided that she is ready to wear her big girl panties  underwear {insert cringe for the word panties} She has been doing great since Friday - all except the pooping. Today we spent a large chunk of time in our bathroom. We read. We watched a show. We sang. We bribed. We played on my iPhone. Finally she asks for some "pricy" (privacy)...I thought this is it, she's going to do this..finally! About 5 mins later I go back in and check on her only to find this:

Needless to say Kira gets distracted easily - I started laughing and asked what she was doing and she just smiles and says "just sittn' mama".

Well with no success for today she went to bed without going poop ~  tomorrow is another day.
I know every child is on their own little schedule for potty training - and of course you can't predict what will happen by the schedule of you first child...however I cannot wait be rid of diapers/wipes/diaper genies...until then a long day of discussing poop with a 3 year old distracted munchkin calls for some mommy juice:

Welcome!

With inspiration from a great friend - I have warmed up to the idea of starting this blog. I have been following a number of blogs over the past year or so and absolutely love reading about different people's ideas, creations, lives and goals. It inspires me to create - which I have never had the natural touch for - my sister got that quality!
This is a great time for me to start blogging - I just moved to Sherwood Park, AB {which I am extremely happy about}, I have a lot of home improvement projects that we are going to be diving into and of course It's a great place to document the busy and exciting lives of a 3 and 4 year old!

I hope that you enjoy my little piece of the web...

Meet my crazy little family!:
